Blog Tour California: It's Coming!

Welcoming another Modenus adventure, this one is not just a city, but an (almost) entire state: California! As a native of Southern California, I couldn't be more thrilled to welcome a group of international bloggers and designers. As an alumni of both Blog Tour London and Blog Tour NYC, along with taking part in hosting last year's Blog Tour LA group, I am looking forward to meeting up and attending many of the events taking place here in LA in just the few days the group will be here, before they head up the coast for some amazing activities! Welcome Blog Tour California! (Blogger profiles here)

For a highlight of what Modenus has planned for the roadtrip that will be Blog Tour California, you can read the latest post here. For me, I am looking forward to attending the WestEdge Design Fair for it's second annual show here in LA, at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. There will also be events in LA hosted by sponsor DXV (who hosted us on Blog Tour NYC too) and Miele. The aptly named BlogToberFest will also be taking place at WestEdge to welcome the bloggers.

Design Resource: HomeByMe

I was recently introduced to a site called Home.By.Me, a free online resource for creating 3D design where you can create your entire home in 3D and experiment with thousands of products and textures before sharing your projects with friends and experts.

The program allows you to import plans (already drawn) or develop your own plans using the software.

It also allows you to select furniture from top designers and manufactures, to scale in with color for a realistic look of your potential conceptual design.

The download also offers the ability to adjust the time and date to simulate seasonal sunlight changes.

In addition, you can export image files to share by email and social media or even view in 360 degree.

For more info, visit the site for a tour and free download.

A Visit to Kohler

Looking forward to attending the 2014 Kohler Blogger Conference early next month in Kohler, WI. We have been invited to stay and experience The American Club, a resort owned and operated by Kohler. In addition we'll have the opportunity to experience the latest products from Kohler, including a factory tour of the Kohler Design Center. I am looking forward to connecting with several of the other bloggers that I know will be in attendance - and a first time ever visit to Wisconsin! (But first I'll be starting off with a visit to Chicago where I will meet up with Julia, our Chicago-based blogger, and a visit to her design studio!) More to come on the blog!

Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival Recap

Last month I attended the 4th annual Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival, a four day long event featuring different tasting events & venues. The event represents major chefs and vineyards, along with sampling unique and flavorful foods. I had the opportunity to attend a champagne and caviar event at the L'Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills along with two of the Lexus Grand Tasting events in downtown LA.

Attending the champagne and caviar event on a really gorgeous summer evening.

Watching chefs in action, both presentation and samplings were perfection in every tasting.

Unique samplings.

The highly anticapted Lexus Live on Grand event (highly recommend) featured hundreds of well-reknowned chefs and wineries. It took place in downtown on a red carpet and adjacent to the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Live music featuring international musicians and a late night performance by Common.
Thank you Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival for the invitation.
