Home Tour: A Nautical Nod
Around LA, there is a vast mix of architectural styles. Less common, are some rare gems that echo a nautical nod, a few of these great homes were built in the 30's and are identified as Streamline Moderne. Here's a tour of one such gem!

Trends: Whimsical Fabrics for Children
Illustrator turned fabric designer Lisa Congdon has created a whimsical line of fabrics from the Cloud9 Fabric Collection. The charming prints are called, "The Land That Never Was." The patterns display color and texture, whimsy, and a medieval mystique.

A Tiny Hollywood Home
At just 580 sq ft, the tiny Hollywood home of Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser's Hollywood adobe is earthy and cozy. The small cabin was designed to maximize every inch of space. The living room area, above, features an Eames lounge chair and ottoman with a coffee table from Cisco Home.

The bed was designed to be suspended from the ceiling and can be hoisted up and pulled down when needed. Truly a great space saver.
The headboard is a slab of redwood that can be pulled down to use as a desk.
A drapery panel can be closed for privacy.
Japanese influences in design are featured in the closet and bath area.
New teak cabinets were installed to mix with the existing appliances.
Black slate was used in a second full bathroom.
The private courtyard features a fire pit and seating area.
A dry suana area includes 2,500 pieces of wood for the ceiling.
A hanging planter is next to the steel and glass doors.
