London Calling: Citizen M Hotel Bankside

As I am eagerly awaiting my trip to London next month, as a particpant of Blog Tour London 2012 with Modenus, I have become in awe of the hotel that we will be staying at. The citizenM Hotel is a boutique hotel located at the Bankside, near to the Tate Modern Museum and London Bridge. It features 192 luxury rooms, in addition to it being a super stylish hotel!

{The lobby living room}

{Hotel interior courtyard}

{Courtyard seating}

{Living Room with bar behind}

{canteenM - bar and cafe}

{Lobby sitting room}

{The lobby with it's own bookstore: Mendo}

{Self service check in kiosks in the hotel lobby}

{All rooms feature XL king size beds, ambient lighting, rainhead showers, furniture by Vitra, electronically controlled window shades, along with several other amenities, wi-fi and global plug outlets included.}

{And the fun might just begin with the tablet mood pad included in every room: controls the room, tv, window shades, temperature, lighting and more - plus Internet browsing and access to Facebook, Twitter - the important things to keep connected to while traveling!}

Looking forward to my stay at citizenM London!

Cisco Home Event in Brentwood

This past week I attended an event at Cisco Home in Brentwood (one of their many store locations) to check out the launch of their new signature line, the Cisco Home Signature Collection. A line that features unique, vintage, & repurposed limited edition creations with a focus on style and sustainability.

The front entrance to the two showroom space Brentwood location.

Colorful and chic pendant lights are featured in the street side storefront window.

Unique vintage tins become scented candles.

Overview of the Cisco Home Brentwood showroom.

LOVE these "Made in LA" wood block letters!

My friend Morgan goes for the "M."

All of us girls loved this vintage chaise!

A Visit to Decorative Carpets

The other day I stopped by Decorative Carpets, a flooring showroom, located here in Los Angeles on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood. Decorative Carpets carries everything from custom area rugs, to broadloom carpet, to indoor/outdoor area rugs - much which can be customized. Here's a visit to the showroom!

At the entrance to the spacious showroom, samples in all colors, sizes, and textures line the walls!

I love these graphic area rugs, and the color combos they come in!

A larger scale wall hanging of the above area rug samples and drawers full of carpet samples - a designer's dream!

Colorful patterns line the walls! Love all the creative options to choose from!

And more! Organized by color!

A fun pattern on a plush area rug.

This pattern could be great for either commercial or residential use.

These striped area rugs can be color customized.

A wide range of indoor/outdoor area rugs (reasonably priced too!).

For broadloom, soft solid colors like the pastels are available (& I thought would work so great in a nursery or kid's room).

More graphics and patterns!

And if you happen to be window shopping, Decorative Carpets has a rotating window display by a featured designer (current vignette is by designer Chris Barrett).

Decorative Carpets is located at 8900 Melrose Avenue in the design district of West Hollywood.

Creative Kid's Spaces!

Kid's rooms are a place to let the creative imagination run free! There are so many inspirational ideas out there to make decorating a nursery or a child's room fun!

Going bold: these walls are actually upholstered in Marimekko's playful African Kuningatar.

A pretty girl's bedroom evokes an enchanted feeling with butterflies flying around (wallpaper from Nina Campbell).

A glam girls bedroom with the most unique "sculptural" element (of surprise!) on the ceiling! (Image via Pinterest)

A "Rock N Roll" teenager's room: daringly painted black walls (oh so chic) and rock star posters, by LA based interior designer Windsor Smith for her son's bedroom!

Graphics and color "play" well in this playroom/study suitable for kids of all ages.

Chalking it up: simple, easy, and versatile - painting the walls in chalkboard paint allows for an ever changing creative room. (Image via Pinterest)

Another great place for chalkboard paint is a door, or in this case, a pair of closet doors. (Image via Pinterest)
